Pita chips are a healthy snack when you make them homemade as you can control the amount of oil used. You can use store-bought whole wheat pita bread or make your own like I did using the recipe here. I modified the recipe by using 2 cups whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour. I made this recipe for 1 pita, but you can make as many as you want.
Homemade Pita Chips
-1 pita pocket
-1/4 tsp olive oil
-1/8 tsp salt or garlic salt
1) Use your fingers or a pastry brush to brush the pita with the oil.
2) Sprinkle with salt.
3) Cut the pita into 6-8 triangles.
4) Bake at 215 degrees Celcius for 10-15 minutes until they are brown and crispy.
Serve with Black Bean Hummus.
